Rubix CE: Setting up points for a Rubix Compute iO (RCIO)

The below article demonstrates how to set up the local inputs and outputs on a Rubix Compute iO (RCIO) only, pictured below.

Note: This does not work for an Rubix Compute 5

Step 1: Ensure that the 'driver-rubix-compute-io' application has been downloaded and activated.

Step 2: In the plugins, install and 'rubix-io' plugin and ensure that it is enabled.

Step 3: In the drivers tab, add the 'rubix-io', then click the arrow button to add the device into the driver

Step 4: Once the device has been created, click the arrow to begin adding the iO points. The RCIO has 8 x UI, 6 x DO and 2 x UOs.

Step 5: There are two options to add iO points; the 'Create' will add individual iO points and the 'Create Bulk' button allows the users to add multiple points.

The example shows a single point being set up. Note the io types that are available for selection for each point.

The points list for the following example is shown as below:

UI1 - Temp sensor (10k type 2)
UI2 - Temp sensor (10k type 2)
UI3 - Switch (digital)
UO1 - Relay switch (digital)
UO2 - Relay switch (digital)
UO3 - LED (0-10V)

Note: It is important to also ensure that physical jumper pins are correctly set up for the correct inputs / outputs on the RCIO

Step 6: To write to any of the outputs, click the orange network button. From the resulting pop up, the user can enter the desired value to any of the priorities (1-16).
