Rubix CE: BACnet Master Integration

Rubix CE: BACnet Master Integration

This page will demonstrate setting up the Rubix Compute as a BACnet Master device, discovering BACnet devices and then adding / writing points to the controller.

Step 1: On the controller level, under 'drivers', click the 'create' button to select and download and install the relevant network. Follow the wizard to continue installing the network.

Step 2: Select the 'BACnet' network to continue with the wizard. This will automatically download the relevant modules and drivers.

Step 3: Click the 'advanced' options and check the port allocation for the BACnet Master settings. Press 'submit' to continue.
Note: As the BACnet master and BACnet server app cannot share the same port, make sure they are different in the setup

Step 4: Click the arrow button on the newly created BACnet module to enter the network.

Step 5: Click into the 'BACnet' tab inside the network and click the 'who-is' button to do a scan for BACnet devices.

Step 6: Once the scan is complete, the list of BACnet devices should be listed. Add the desired devices by checking the tix box on the appropriate device and then click the 'create devices' button to add.
In this example, the 'Basement Rubix' device will be added to the BACnet Master.

Step 7: Click into the device that was just added and then click the arrow button to discover the device's BACnet points.

Step 8: Click the 'Discover' button to see all the available BACnet points, then check the tick box on the points that you wish to add and click 'Create Points'.

Writing to Points

Once you have created the points, you can read / write to output points by clicking on the orange edit button and entering the desired value.

Write the value into the priority array, with 1 being the highest priority and 16 being the lowest priority.
Click 'send' to apply.
Note: For a digital point, '0' represents 'off', '1' represents 'on
