Rubix CE: Getting Started

Adding a token to download apps and services

with the provided token please paste in into the token section in the settings

Adding a connection (adding rubix-assist port:1662 or 443 for cloud)

The Rubix-Platform-CE application can be used to setup and program multiple instances of the Rubix-assist (each customer has their own instance of Rubix-assist running in the cloud or on premises) so the user of CE can engineer multiple sites at once.

An admin can generate multiple tokens for each site specific customer and can also remove the customer from the site by revoking the specific token. See 'Generating a Token'.

  1. for adding a non HTTPS (local rubix-compute) untick HTTPS and use the defult port
  2. for CLOUD account tick HTTPS and set the port to 443 (https port)
  3. if you are the administrator of the account then you can use the username and password or simply paste in the token provided

Creating a token for a non admin user

if you wish to allow a user to engineer the system but do not want to give them the username and password you can generate and revote thire access to the system

Adding a rubix-compute

Adding a location

If there is no location then add a new location. Example names could be a building, a state.

Adding a group

If there is no group then add a new group. Example names could be a level of a building

Adding a Rubix Compute controller

Adding a controller is adding a physical device (as in a Rubix-compute) you will need the IP of the device and the username and password. If you know the IP of the controller to add, you can click the 'create' button and follow the wizard to add the device.

Alternatively, click the 'discover' tab to see the list of available Rubix Compute devices on the network.

Once you have found the IP of the controller you want to add:

Step 1: Enter name and IP of controller. If you don't have an existing token, leave the field blank and click the 'create' button. A token can be generated later in step 3.

Step 2: Ping the controller to ensure you have a connection to the device.

Step 3: If you already have been provided a token then you can paste it directly into field.  Otherwise, click the 'generate token' button to log in and generate a token.

The default username and password is:  admin / N00BWires
Click login to continue.

After a new token has now been generated, click the 'save token' button.

Click the 'refresh' icon and the newly created device should appear in the navigation tree. You should now be able to access the device (the 'rc' text should turn green).

Generating a new token and changing device passwords

Multiple tokens can be created if the owner wants different users to access the supervisor or device. This privilege can be revoked at any time to limit user access.
To view or to generate additional tokens, log into the device.

Enter the credentials (admin / N00BWires) when the login pop-up appears.
The following options will be available after logging in:
- Create a new user: click the + button to create a user for the device / supervisor
- Update existing user: the user can update the device's password
- Copy / view token : to send to other users
- Create a new token
- Block a token
- Delete user

Rebooting the Rubix Compute
